You Did It. And You're Still Doing It.

This is more than a celebration. It's a daily reminder.

2026: What a year. A crazy ride on this great roller coaster called life. Looking back, I feel a mixture of gratitude, sadness, relief, and a beautiful sense of release. From health challenges and career changes to personal growth and rediscovering my independence, this year has challenged me in ways I never saw coming. Some chapters closed, others opened, and somewhere along the way, I had to figure out how to navigate it all. Was it easy? Absolutely not. But here I am, still standing, still smiling, and still figuring things out.

On December 3, 2024, I underwent gastric bypass surgery, a life-changing decision that marked the beginning of a new chapter. My girlfriends surprised me with golden balloons that spelled out YOU DID IT. Almost two years later, those very same balloons are still hanging on my wall. Now, let's be real, most balloons don't even survive a four-hour party, but these babies are still going strong. Just like me! What started as a beautiful surprise has become something much bigger. Those balloons have witnessed almost two years of changes, challenges, tears, laughter, and everything in between. Every time I look at them, I'm reminded of how far I've come and how much more I'm capable of.

If 2026 has taught me one thing, it's that resilience isn't about never falling. It's about getting back up, adapting, and finding solutions, even when life throws unexpected challenges your way. Fall seven times, stand up eight. This year also taught me what independence truly means: standing on my own two feet, taking responsibility, and trusting myself to figure things out. Gotta take care of myself like the big girl I am. And as Fergie said, Big Girls Don't Cry. Although, let's be real, sometimes we absolutely do, duh! But independence doesn't mean doing everything alone. It takes a village, and oh, how I love my village. From family and friends to unexpected kindness from strangers, every helping hand and thoughtful check-in has meant the world to me. I'm beyond grateful. We gaan door.

When I look at those balloons today, I see the woman I've become. Una mujer hecha y derecha, as my abuela Carmen used to say. (Gracias, Carmen, porque aunque ya no estés con nosotros, sigues siendo parte de mi vida). Te echo de menos! Her words still guide me as I continue to grow and evolve. As Rosalía sings in SAOKO, Yo me transformo: I change, I adapt, I learn, and I refuse to remain the same. And today, I added another golden balloon: CHAMPION #1, for my daughter who underwent surgery. I wanted to remind her that she's strong, brave, and capable. Recovery won't always be easy, but she doesn't have to face it alone. That's what I want both my daughters to remember: we look for solutions, we ask for help, and we never give up on ourselves.

Almost 2 years ago, my girlfriends celebrated my strength with those balloons. Today, I'm passing that same message on to my daughter. What started as a celebration has become a daily reminder of resilience, gratitude, love, and growth. A reminder to appreciate my village, celebrate the little victories, and keep my head held high. Kara na laira.

And if there's one piece of advice I can leave you with, it's this:

Live your life to the fullest.

Celebrate the moments, embrace the changes, and don't wait for the perfect time. Because as Benito reminds us, nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana. So we might as well make the most of today. Gracias, Benito, gracias, Rosalia, gracias, Fergie, and gracias, my village!
